Dreaming Always of You

Sami Stamps is sponsoring a challenge over on the Crafty Friends Blog!  The Challenge is to use flowers somewhere on your creation.  For the challenge, I chose to color "Little One", an image I just love, from Sami Stamps.  Wonder what she's gazing at?  I picture her, and her snuggly kitty, looking over a beautiful meadow filled with blue flowers like the one in her hair.  A sweet image, and truly rewarding to color.  So, take a gander over on the Crafty Friends Blog - and join in on the fun!  :)

Hey There

Hello! It's been pouring buckets of rain the last few days - outstanding opportunity to get crafty! Actually, I grew up in the Seattle area, so it's a comfort thing to me. My mom's craft when the weather kept you inside, was cooking and baking. So rainy days conjure up all kinds of lovely memories. But my craft of choice on this gray day was to color a Tickled Pink digital image, "Eric", from CC Designs. Love this long lanky guy - cool and confident.  This ended up being a great "guy card", and lots of fun to color.
That's it for today.  Thank you, as always, for visiting.  I'm headed into the kitchen to bake banana bread... yeah, so my momma kinda rubbed off on me!  :)

All Of Me

Hello! I decided to color up another image from Mo's Digital Pencil. This one is titled "From the Same Tree". It's a very cute series of images centered around sets of brothers and sisters. I did a little switcheroo, though, 'cause I wanted these two from the "Brothers" set to be brother and sister - my brother and I, in fact! Hope I pulled it off... lol! It was fun matching their outfits to the banner arched above them. My friend, Amy, gave me the idea of cutting the banner from the Echo Park/Autumn Bunting DP. We did this together on a card we worked on a few weeks ago, and I decided to apply it with this project as well. So, thanks Amy! :)
Alrighty then, I'm off to get some errands done - hope you have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Hello Friend

Happy Monday to you!
What to do when you know it's going to rain buckets when camping with your husband? You bring the craft room! This darling little gal is called "Hello Autumn", from Mo's Digital Pencil. It could have been a little claustrophobic in our camper with the rain pounding down all day; but not when this little darlin' was keeping me company!
Fall colors have always been my favorite - which just added to the fun! I kept the design very simple - just adore her gazing up at that colorful leaf; I didn't want to distract from it!
Hope you enjoy, and thanks for visiting!

You are Such a Hoot

Sami Stamps has another fantastic release, "Halloween Hoots" - and a challenge as well, for the month of October. I chose to color "Pumpkin Hoot", and really had fun putting it together. I started out masking the image, and layering distressed ink. For texture, I added a splattering of Picket Fence; I also used my stipple brush over the background as a final touch.  This owl makes quite a presentation in this image, so I decided to color him up big - and was pleased with the results!   This month's challenge is to add texture to your creation - ribbons, fabric, paint - any kind of texture to add interest. You'll find these images to be a lot of fun, so be sure to check out the rest of the design team's fabulous cards at Sami's Shop! Thank you for stopping by, and have yourself a great weekend!

Hello Fall

Today's little redhead welcoming in the fall season is part of Roberto's Rascals' "4 Seasons Girls" clear stamp set from C.C. Designs. There is also a set for the boys (4 Seasons Boys)... both equally awesome and amazing! There is a darling character for each season just flirting with you to color them up! My card today is another CAS layout, but with an abundance of color! The rest of the guys and gals will be on the ol' blog in the coming seasons - so stay tuned! ;) Alrighty then, I'm off to run errands - lots'n'lots of company this weekend! Eeek! Hello There

It's hard to believe Halloween is soon upon us - the fun of the holidays begins! In honor of this fine "trick or treat" holiday, I've colored "Vanessa Vampire" from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. I'm also going to toss my hat into their challenge titled, "Pick a Holiday, Any Holiday!". This one was a kick to create; I think because the paper I chose had a lot of bright, fun colors.  I can just imagine hearing her with that vampire voice whipping around the corner with a "hello there" that makes you want to turn around and beat feet!  LOL. Anyway - I hope you enjoy her, and I also thank you for stopping by!

Some evenings when all that is appearing on the TV is football (hubby's in charge of the remote), I like to peruse crafty websites on my tablet.  On one of those occasions, I found a digital stamp company on Etsy - OddballArtCo.  The images are a bit quirky, but I adore them!  The owner and creator of these fabulous images is Lizzy Love, and she's really come up with some fun characters.  Today's star is Big Eye Girl in Monster Hood. Isn't she cute?  I left the card CAS - which tends to be my typical choice, but I'm happy with the results.  You will definitely be seeing more from Oddball Art on my blog in the future!  That's it for today - have a good one, and see you back here soon!

Sending Big Hugs

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Many of us have lost dear ones in our lives due to this terrible disease, and have hope in our hearts that there will soon be a better understanding of its cause, prevention, and most importantly, cure. Right now, the most effective prevention is mammography - and this is my loving reminder to schedule yours!  The image I chose for today is "Another Beautiful Day".  She is dressed in orange, in honor of my friend who was taken by the disease - it was a warm, comforting, color to her.  She wrapped herself up in orange everything, and lived every minute she had with love in her heart!
Sami Stamps Design Team has created a Think Pink Showcase as their contribution to bringing awareness to this cause. Be sure to check out their beautiful designs!  And thank you for stopping by - have a great weekend!

Let Us Adore Him

Sami Stamps has a new release, "Noble Little King".  Beautiful images that you can put together to create a lovely nativity scene. It's hard to believe we're approaching that time of year - and it just seems to arrive even earlier in the crafty world! But, "Joseph" and "Little King" were so enjoyable to color and design into a card. You'll also want to check out the rest of the Design Team's inspiring creations on Sami's blog! You're Awesome

Today I chose to color from the "You're Super" stamp set by Birdie Brown/My Favorite Things. First, I masked super girl and then stamped the buildings (with my Misti) in layers, using gray and black ink. I also added a bit of distressed ink to the gray buildings to make it appear they have a bit of the sun's reflection on them. Then I smooshed Distressed Ink in the background for the sun's glow. After coloring her, I added glitter tape as her base, and the sentiment. Such a fun project! I've always loved Birdie Brown's darling images. So, that's it for today, thank you for stopping by!

Hi Friend

Today's guest to my blog is "Pretend Friend" from Santoro's Gorjuss Girl collection. Another favorite! My inspiration was triggered this morning when I pulled the background paper from my stash. Just love the colors, so I was on a mission! This is the first time I've used the E70's (Copics) to color hair, but I ended up being happy with the results. Not really sure if I've seen anybody with this color of hair - but, when you're a colorist, you get to create whatever inspires you, right? That's half the fun! I make many of my cards for my mother, who lives in an assisted living facility. She loves scribing a little message and passing them out to her friends. This one will definitely serve that purpose. Hope it will make the recipient smile, and makes you smile as well! That's it for today, and thank you for stopping by!

Hello

Today's guest is Hillary from Mo's Digital Pencil, harvesting a fruit that is quite plentiful where I live. When you drive into the city I call home, there is a huge apple sign with a neon message indicating we are "The Apple Capital of the World!". Well, I did a Google search... 'cause I didn't truly believe it. I learned that Washington State produces 64% of the nation's apples; which equates to 175,000 acres that produce 2.5 million TONS of apples annually! It breaks down into three regions, and our city actually falls into 2nd place now in Washington State.  The second highest producing state is New York @ 9.7%; that surprised me as well, guess NYC is called "The Big Apple" for a reason! So there you go... a little apple trivia for you on a Wednesday! But, I digress...
Don't you think Hillary is just darling with those apples bundled up in her sweater? It was an easy decision to get her on a card!  My objective was to replicate the beautiful colors that just seem to glow in this area during the time of fall harvest. It was a lot of fun layering papers to create that scene, and of course, Mo's images are always rewarding to color. So that's it for today... hope you have a fantastic week!

Celebrate

The cupcake in today's card is one from Papertrey Ink's "The Baker's Dozen", stamp set. Love them!  There is a cupcake for every birthday month - and each one is as fun as the next! My goal is to get one posted per month... but we'll see how it goes! In fact, I debated on this one, as it wasn't an easy one to photograph. The glitter was fighting with me. I must say, it is much more sparkly in person.  To apply the glitter, I adhered scor-tape to vellum and sprinkled away! I then adhered the vellum to a piece of white paper. I left the card CAS, as the glitter seemed to do the job. Ok, enough from me! Thank you for stopping by!

Good Morning! Today's star is "Giggle Fairy", a digital stamp from Some Odd Girl. There's something so fun and rewarding about coloring SOG images. Be a Dreamer

Happy Monday! Hope you had a great weekend! Today I chose to color an image from "The East Wind"; her name is "Aurora Scarf Lover". From the moment I made eye contact with her, I couldn't wait to get her on a card! I think she really came to life with these colors, and am looking forward to coloring more East Wind Images in the future! So I have a "Where's Waldo" for you! Can you find the ice cream bar in the image? Wasn't sure how to include this, so just colored over it! Anyway, have a great week, and thanks for visiting!

Big Hugs

"Totes Anya" from The Greeting Farm asked me to color her up this morning :). I paper pieced her dress, and shaded with E50, E51. Then, glammed her up a bit with makeup... sometimes I hesitate to add a few changes here and there, but usually it's rewarding to take the chance. Granted, there are a those attempts that end up in File 13 - all part of the learning process! On this one, I was pleased overall with her "dressed up" look, and I hope you are too!
Well, we're off to pick more Huckleberries!  Thanks for visiting!

Choose Joy

Where has the week gone already?  Much of it for me was spent processing Huckleberries that my husband and I picked last weekend. If you aren't familiar with them, they are a tiny dark purple berry that is just packed with flavor. They only grow in the wild,  and when they are baked into something or cooked into jam, they are magical. It's a chore to harvest them - as it takes many berries, and deer fly bites, (ugh), to fill your bucket! But so worth it! I canned 14 jars of jam, and made a Buckle.... nom nom, as they say!
So, today's post is a darling little fairy from Sugar Nellie. Her name is Hazel; and I just love her sweet expression. She's pretty tickled after accomplishing her soft land on that billowy mushroom... with no deer flies pestering her!  Just time for a rest!
So that's all for today.  As always, thank you for stopping by!

Be Your Own

Hi there, and Happy Monday! Just got back from a three day camping trip, and feel refreshed and ready to take on the world! And so happy to be back in my craft room! Today's star is "Little Dancer Rose", from A Day For Daisies. Love these Dancers! As soon as I saw them, I had to immediately purchase the whole collection. Little Rose has such a sweet face with that pile of blue roses on her head - just really had fun coloring her. The background paper is from the Bo Bunny "Butterfly Kisses" collection - honestly, some of the prettiest paper I've had the pleasure of working with. So, there you go - hope you have a wonderful week, and thank you for stopping by!!

Delight

Greetings! Today's little image is a MFT Pure Innocence stamp set, called "Mud Buddies". I just adore these sweet images! I changed her hair a bit - and the jury's still out on whether I like her original do better. I decided to fussy cut her so I could really make her pop with the bright papers in the background. Looks like she picked a beautiful day to plant her seeds! That's it for today - see you round the bend!

Bloom Where You're Planted

This little Pixie from C.C. Designs is such a cutey sittin' in that flower pot; I just couldn't resist coloring her up! I created a simple background with Tim Holtz distressed ink, and applied water to add interest.  It was also a great opportunity to utilize a coloring tutorial by Debra James.  Just love how beautifully she created the look of copper - and thought it would be fun to apply on the little pot in this image. This was a fun card, with a CAS layout - hope you enjoy! And, as always, thank you for stopping by!

You Are A Blessing

I recently came across a group started by Mindy @ My Creative Scoop. Such a supportive group of artists, and Mindy is incredibly helpful and personable. I mentioned that I wanted help with backgrounds, and she referred me to the background tutorials posted on her blog.  I found one by Deborah @ Deborah's Shining Cards on how to color an underwater scene. So HELPFUL! I also noticed that a dear friend had used this same tutorial on her blog, A Thousand Sheets of Paper.  Her work is an Encyclopedia of Copic Coloring! Anyway, I had a lot of help and a lot of fun coloring little Oceanessa and her Seahorse. She is from Sweet Pea Stamps, which, I understand, is no longer in business. For me, the practice is the fun - and the outcome can be so rewarding. Really appreciate the help I received on this project, and thank you for stopping by and visiting today! :)

Your Thoughtfulness

Happy Monday to you! This darling mermaid from The Greeting Farm is my second entry in the "H20 Love" Challenge on the TGF Blog for the month of July. The background hearts/bubbles were done with a stencil and Tim Holtz Picket Fence paint. I then did a wash with Distressed Ink - adding a bit of Perfect Pearls powder from Ranger into my watercolor wash to give it a nice iridescent sheen. So fun! And, of course, colored the mermaid, fish, and seaweed with my Copics. And then... found the perfect sentiment! Just really had a lot of fun putting this together. Hope you enjoy! :)

You're Pretty Much My Most

There's a new Farm Fresh Challenge, "H20 Love", on The Greeting Farm's Blog. So I chose Chibi Diver for my water themed card today, and was she (and her friend) ever fun to color! I also got my distressed inks out to create the water and sand in the background, and threw a few Pretty Pink Posh water droplets to add sparkle. I was also pleased to find the perfect scenario to use this sentiment from Honey Bee Stamps. Overall, I was pleased with the results! Thanks for stopping by, and have a fantastic day!!

Simple Things

There is a challenge on A Day for Daisies Blog to add glitter to one of their images. So, I've decided to color Flower Fairy for the occasion!  I challenged myself to stay neutral, and use as few colors as possible.  Ultimately, however, I learned that no matter how monochromatic my color theme, I needed lotsa pens to create dimension... lesson learned!  Also, the glitter is difficult to see in the image, but there's actually sparkle on her wings.  :)  Another fun card to create, and I ended up pleased with the results!  Thank you for stopping by!

You're The Bomb

Hello!  Please say hello to Azary, from The Greeting Farm!  Kinda like this guy!  And, he was so much fun to color!
One (of many) things that is incredibly rewarding about making cards is that it provides you with another way to put your heart and soul into expressing gratitude, friendship, love, sympathy, and acknowledgement of a job well done.  Today, my post is about congratulations.  Way to go, Wah!

Hello I love you

Today I've colored Twin Marko for The Greeting Farm's "Farm Fresh Challenge", "All about the boys"!  I started this little project by first stenciling "The Wall", by Prima, with Vintage Photo distressed ink.  And then had a lot of fun coloring Marko.  Love TGF ' S Creepers... I raised two boys, so it's fun to dress these guys in their liking.  This guy reminded me of my youngest... A rough and tumble skateboarder, with a tender heart.  Hope you enjoy!

Scribble Scribble

Hello!  Every once in a while I come across a stamp set that makes me, (a grown, somewhat responsible woman, and grandma to the cutest grandbaby on the plant), GIGGLE!  The Mama Elephant, Monster Jam stamps did just that... absolutely love them!  So, one of these little monsters landed on my card today, and he was great fun to color.  The background was done by applying drops of Tim Holtz Distressed Ink on water color paper, and then blowing the paint around through a straw.  Really a very simple card, but was happy with the results.  So, that's it for today!  Thank you for your visit to my blog!
