Delight

Greetings! Today's little image is a MFT Pure Innocence stamp set, called "Mud Buddies". I just adore these sweet images! I changed her hair a bit - and the jury's still out on whether I like her original do better. I decided to fussy cut her so I could really make her pop with the bright papers in the background. Looks like she picked a beautiful day to plant her seeds! That's it for today - see you round the bend!

Bloom Where You're Planted

This little Pixie from C.C. Designs is such a cutey sittin' in that flower pot; I just couldn't resist coloring her up! I created a simple background with Tim Holtz distressed ink, and applied water to add interest.  It was also a great opportunity to utilize a coloring tutorial by Debra James.  Just love how beautifully she created the look of copper - and thought it would be fun to apply on the little pot in this image. This was a fun card, with a CAS layout - hope you enjoy! And, as always, thank you for stopping by!

You Are A Blessing

I recently came across a group started by Mindy @ My Creative Scoop. Such a supportive group of artists, and Mindy is incredibly helpful and personable. I mentioned that I wanted help with backgrounds, and she referred me to the background tutorials posted on her blog.  I found one by Deborah @ Deborah's Shining Cards on how to color an underwater scene. So HELPFUL! I also noticed that a dear friend had used this same tutorial on her blog, A Thousand Sheets of Paper.  Her work is an Encyclopedia of Copic Coloring! Anyway, I had a lot of help and a lot of fun coloring little Oceanessa and her Seahorse. She is from Sweet Pea Stamps, which, I understand, is no longer in business. For me, the practice is the fun - and the outcome can be so rewarding. Really appreciate the help I received on this project, and thank you for stopping by and visiting today! :)

Your Thoughtfulness

Happy Monday to you! This darling mermaid from The Greeting Farm is my second entry in the "H20 Love" Challenge on the TGF Blog for the month of July. The background hearts/bubbles were done with a stencil and Tim Holtz Picket Fence paint. I then did a wash with Distressed Ink - adding a bit of Perfect Pearls powder from Ranger into my watercolor wash to give it a nice iridescent sheen. So fun! And, of course, colored the mermaid, fish, and seaweed with my Copics. And then... found the perfect sentiment! Just really had a lot of fun putting this together. Hope you enjoy! :)

Go Forward

Hi there! Today's star is Sweet Mae from Some Odd Girl. I just joined the Some Odd Girl fan page, and thought I'd participate in the "Sweet and Simple" challenge. She's such a beautiful girl all on her own, so thought she'd fit right in with the theme. Thank you for stopping by - enjoy your day!

You're Pretty Much My Most

There's a new Farm Fresh Challenge, "H20 Love", on The Greeting Farm's Blog. So I chose Chibi Diver for my water themed card today, and was she (and her friend) ever fun to color! I also got my distressed inks out to create the water and sand in the background, and threw a few Pretty Pink Posh water droplets to add sparkle. I was also pleased to find the perfect scenario to use this sentiment from Honey Bee Stamps. Overall, I was pleased with the results! Thanks for stopping by, and have a fantastic day!!
